Repair Wizard
Repair Wizard was started by Dave Craig in 2019 following a successful career as a repair technician and senior manager with the UK’s largest surface repair company. Following a successful start up period, in April 2020 Dave formed Repair Wizard SW Ltd with Chris Nuttall Worsley a former colleague alongside a local building services company. In January 2021 Martin Smith joined the company as a non executive director bringing with him a wealth of experience from his previous role as Chairman of The Firewatch Group.
Jetwash Wizard was added into the core services in 2022 when a brand new state of the art purpose built hot/cold jetwash and purified water vehicle was purchased by the business. Working for large educational organisations, property management companies and house builders, the service has become a well known name within the South West. A Water leak Detection Service were added to Repair Wizard services in 2023. Working alongside insurance companies finding and fixing water leaks as well as replacing and installing new water mains the service has quickly become a trusted partner for several large customers.
All three directors of Repair Wizard passionately share the same values and have a wealth of experience in the repair industry as well as managing large responsive companies. Dave Craig – Managing Director
Originally from Louth, Lincolnshire Dave moved to Devon in early 00’s to join the police. After a successful career Dave left the force and began working for The Plastic Surgeon training as a surface repairer.
A few years after joining Dave was promoted through the company eventually ending up as head of construction reporting directly to the board of directors and group investors. Dave began Repair Wizard in 2019 and now oversees the company’s activities whilst focussing on sales, marketing, and finance.
Outside of Repair Wizard Dave is married to Lucy with three children and three dogs. Dave is a massive formula 1 fan, a supporter of Exeter City FC and an experienced gardener and can normally be found outside of work either in his veg patch or in the summer down on the beach having a family BBQ.
Dave is a strong advocate for adopted children having adopted his youngest child and has sat on the adoption panel for Devon whilst giving talks and advice on his experience of adoption to social workers and potential adopters.
Martin Smith – Director.
Originally from Leicester and having lived in Devon for 42 years, Martin has been married to Jill for 46 years they have two daughters and four grandchildren. Having trained in the hospitality industry, Martin owned a guest house in Torquay for twenty years as well as doing several jobs over that period including: chef, milkman, and fire extinguisher engineer. He co-founded fire protection company Firewatch Southwest in 1998 with four members of staff, growing the business to a multimillion turnover with 50 plus employees.
Martin is an active member and past president of the Rotary Club of Newton Abbot and trustee of the Meadowside Charity in Newton Abbot and has organised several charity events in particular Charlies Trophy golf day, named after his grandson Charlie, who has a rare syndrome Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome, raising over £100,000 for the RTS charity and 15 other local charities.
His hobbies are supporting and travelling to watch his hometown football team Leicester City FC, enjoying playing golf albeit badly, a recreational poker player and reader
Chris Nuttall – Operations Director
Chris started work in the cosmetic repair industry in 2008 and has been in it ever since. Having progressed his career from humble stone finisher up to operations manager in the space of 10 years, Chris gained a vast experience from doing this and decided to put these skills to the use by joining Repair Wizard. With this freedom Chris is passionate about pushing the boundaries of repair and exploring new markets that are unaware of the repair industry. Chris bases his business on integrity and honesty and always strives to provide a great customer experience from start to finish.
Out of work Chris loves a good cup of coffee, anything motorbike related and spending time with family and friends.
